You should be happy! There are two Sport Evo's with Motec and Milltek with "only" 190 @ wheels

no offence dude, but 190bhp at the wheels for a stock M3 (which model?) seems a bit optimistic to me.
Do you have a graph and torque figures as well?

its an evo2

as far as bhp goes they if running correct will produce their 220hp plus some

in fact they are the only m3 that does produce bmws figures

whose seen an evo sport make theirs in standard trim??

plenty of witnesses and we have to take into account these rollers this day etc etc etc

i know you can only compare against cars on that day on those rollers

John

The figures were wrong my friend i was on the rollers and he gave me 300bhp to the wheels it was set to 30% load not 19.5%

my figures were 320.8 @ Fly and 268.5 Wheels

My Modds are Dave F's K/n Induction kit, chippedUK's Remap and a scorpion Rear exshaust

P.s Your car is very very nice indeed and i didnt like the look on your face when it was on the rollers

Cheers Leigh

I really don't want to knock your figures, but what is it "adjusted" to?
I always said that the EVO2 is the best "off the shelf" M3 anyway because it makes the power claimed.
But 190 at the wheels is still a bit high for a stocj car.
I have 189 at the wheels with 2.5 and 290 cams. Engine power was calculated 245bhp.

228 BHP. If I remember correctly it is quite a low milage car too, right? If the dyno is 10bhp too optimistic (I`m not saying it is) but even that would be good to.

I`ll have to get my Evo 2 dynod when I get it back on the road - just out of interest. It`s not like this lovely example though - mine is more shed-like, 115k miles and counting.

In my opinion, all these figures mean nothing unless everyone used the same rolling road all the time, including BMW when they calculate theirs.

The rolling road day we had on Sunday was a great opportunity to get together, get the cars on the rollers, and compare to each others figures, the operator could also tell us if the car was running correctly or not,  electrical and fuelling wise. There are so many different factors to take into account, such as temperature etc, the figures are not going to be reliable.

There were 3 E30 M3's there and I had the lowest figure, but I do believe that the scorpion on the car is robbing me of a few ponies, I've also got quite a dip in the power curve at about 3500rpm, but the scorpion will be going soon, and I will be fitting a full standard BMW system soon (with only 31k on it!!) thanks John!

Sounds about right to me!

My car was at 202 HP at the wheels on a Dynojet with Schricks and went up to 220 HP at the wheels with Maxx Alpha-N and carbon fibre airbox. This was all on the same Dynojet..
Car is an Evo 2 with 48.000 km's..

My 215 at dastek got 221 when colins 2002 SE got 238, so the rollers seem fairly accurate.

my project 195, which now has 48tb's ported head with m5 inlet valves, 2 piece exhaust, standard cams, CF airbox and a-n is 236.

There is however a noticeable difference in the on road performance, mainly from the torque between the 2 models.

Toby,
how can you call this accurate???? A standard 215bhp car with MORE than 215 bhp? On any other Dyno the struggle to make 210, most of them come up with 205-208.....

Numbers, Numbers....

Uwe,

How would we know if the car was std? Unless stripped, noone could ascertain as to whether it had some headwork and/or some cams fitted.

For a good low mileage engine with the right bits and in good tune, that sounds relaistic to me.

For your 2.5, you are quoting 245 at the crank? How have you achieved this with regards to comp ratio and top end spec?
